  • Ask about allergens when you order: US food law names nine major allergens (milk, eggs, fish, shellfish, tree nuts, peanuts, wheat, soy and sesame), and kitchens can tell you which dishes contain them.
  • Restaurant inspection results are kept by the city or county health department; many publish them online or post the latest grade at the door.
  • For table service a tip of 15–20% is customary; at counter-service places tipping is optional.

While visiting Phoenix, AZ with family, searched and checked out online locations of local restaurants in the area. Found Leo's Island BBQ nearby on Bell Rd/77th, right across from the Arrowhead Town Center Mall. Went there and decided on ordering the Family Meals for 4 People (w/Chicken Katsu, BBQ Chicken & BBQ Beef w/veggies, Mac Salad & Rice). Also, ordered extra 2-Scoop Mac Salad, 4 Musubis & 4 Chicken Egg Rolls. The food was excellent, the chicken and beef were tender and tasty, but the Mac Salad was deliciously on point. Exactly as I like it (umami flavor (maybe w/a little MSG (?? who knows, oh yeah!) marrying with the Rice & proteins). The counter staff was friendly and cordial, place was clean and the location ideal (other option rather than the Mall's food court) if you prefer Local Hawaiian Plate Lunch meals. Overall, We absolutely enjoyed the food and I'll be certain to visit Leo's Island BBQ once again before we leave home to Vegas and CA... Sorry, no photos of the Musubis. GKids ate it all up before snapping a photo, plus half of the Mac Salad disappeared (Lol)...

Totally legit plate lunch place. Greeted as soon as we entered, food came out quick, everything was on point. Chicken katsu, teriyaki chicken and authentic Mac salad. Will definitely be back.

Coming from Seattle where Island food is plenty and the vibes are good, I went in not expecting much. Leo's did not disappoint. Had the Loco moco with hamburger patty and fried rice, and mixed BBQ plate for share. Grindz were ono and the Mac was better than most places. For a Monday night (730pm) this place was jammin'. Prices were good and portions plenty. Went to the other Hawaiian spot down the street and we walked out. No ohana, no aloha and no good vibes when ordering off a kiosk. Glad we came to Leo's. Eat here!

I’ve been on the hunt for some good Spam Musubi lately and finally stumbled upon Leo’s Island BBQ. I ended up grabbing two musubis and the Chicken & Beef Combo, and honestly, the smell hitting me in the car was a 10/10 before I even took a bite. The Chicken & Beef combo was the way to go. Both meats were super flavorful and cooked perfectly. I’m glad I did the mix because choosing just one would’ve been a mistake. The Spam Musubi was the best part. I haven’t had a good one since I was in San Antonio, and this totally hit the spot. I’ve definitely found my new go-to for island cravings. I’ll be back for sure!
